TOP 3 CHEAP CHARACTERS -- MVC3

CHEAP THEY ARE...

BY FAR SENTINEL, DANTE & AMATERASU ARE THE CHEAPEST CHARACTERS ON MVC3.

By all means, do what you do, use who you use. But, people that have absolutely no skill at all can win fights with these 3 characters as a team alone. I'm still getting better at the game, so I'll never knock what another player does.

lls!!! Everyone & there mother knows hows to do Dante's combos, & Ammy, when you have combos like cr. H, H, H, H, H. I mean there ya go...

The link above basically shows you how one of the legends of the MVC franchise feels at times while playing this game. Even though the fun factor is very high, there are alot of frustrations setting in, you just have to work around them...

Real Life Tourney Play

The realization is that the Community is real... Tournaments are real & important to the day & age of head to head fighting games. SSF4, Tekken, MVC & BlazBlue. Every year you hear about some new goofball in the community that takes a bracket & runs with it, but then the true legends comes back and toatlly whips their ass all over again. Daigo was at one point the BEST in the world when it came to SSF4. At EVO 2004, he and Justin Wong had a match that embedded itself in history and not only made EVO even more popular today, but gave a nick name to Daigo known as the Beast...

Every week SRK & EventHubs will post the community tourney list and unfortunately Maryland, Iowa, North Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado & Delaware are not allowed to have tournaments because by law it is illegal to participate in tournaments for money because you win by skill & not by chance. At EVO 2010 Nin & Rip had a great Tekken 6 Final match. Nin took it all & made a hefty pocket as well. What I have tried to explain to NBA 2K & Madden fans that the level of play and money exchange is nowhere near the amount of what the Community brings in.

At EVO 2010 the SSF4 Grand Finals showcased Daigo vs Ricky Ortiz. Ortiz had 2 opportunities to get back in the game, but Daigo put it away with Ryu. Right now in MD, the only thing we can do is have casuals at side clubs and pay $5 or $10 to get in. But it'll do til we travel and compete. The EVO 2011 date, location & roster is as follows:
July 29th - 31st
Rio Hotel Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada
Marvel vs Capcom 3, Super Street Fighter 4, Mortal Kombat 9, Tekken 6 & BlazBlue

I WILL BE AT EVO 2011... SEE YOU THERE... THE COMMUNITY IS REAL...

Mortal Kombat -- Past, Present & Past

In 1992, A fighting game created by a Mr. Ed Boon, was at first supposed to be based on current action martial artist Jean Claude-Van Damme, Can you believe that??? When that fell through, Ed decided to go in another direction and released Mortal Kombat by Midway. Like Street Fighter and Ryu, Mortal Kombat had Liu Kang as the focus character as he tries to eliminate Shang Tsung and save the earth. Other characters included Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage and Kano. Goro & Reptile were also characters involved in the 1st MK installment.

At one point in time, MK was the most popular home console video game, and it didn't take long for sequels to come. My most personal favorite was Ultimate MK3 in 1995. Not only did it come w/ a run button to faster complete combos, but it also introduced more characters and new moves. Characters included, of course the original cast plus, from MK2 Jax, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Baraka & Smoke. The new characters included, Cyrax, Kabal, Nightwolf, Sektor, Sindel, Sheeva & Stryker. The bosses were Motaro, Shao Kahn and the hidden character Noob Saibot (YouTube above).

Every single MK game after 3 was bullshit if you ask me. I mean, let's be honest, Even MK1 was horrible, but it was so funny and gore filled that you had to like it. The fighting was choppy, punching was upward and stuck. MK3 was probably the best at taking all the previous flaws and correcting the unsure attitudes of the fans before.

MK4 -- Once 3D started, it was all over. Just like SFEX, horrible, MK4 and on, HORRIBLE... The storyline didn't matter... No one cared that Liu Kang died and Shang Tsung was overthrown. In 2008 Warner Bros. & DC put together MK vs DC Universe. It was a cry for help, almost trying to tell fans that they are capable of making a game up to the standard of the modern age of gaming. Meanwhile, SF4 & Tekken 6 are destroying tourneys left and right. It did, however show some promise for later projects.

Mortal Kombat 2011, Ed Boon describes this game as an altered retelling of the original 3 MK games, hence everything after MK3 sucks... So far there are 25 characters on the PS3 console and 24 on the XBOX 360. PS3 has the exclusive character Kratos from the GOW series. BarakaCyraxErmacJadeJaxJohnny CageKanoKitanaKung LaoLiu KangMileenaNightwolfNoob Saibot, RaidenReptile, Scorpion, Sektor, Shang Tsung, SindelSonyaStryker, Sub-Zero, Goro & Shao Kahn.

I will say this... I WILL buy the new MK just to see where it goes and what the feel is online. From the trailers and previews the games still looks choppy, very new, but still choppy. Some combos are gangsta though, I must admit... Go on YouTube and checkout some of the videos posted for MK 2011. Most def, comment and lemme know what you think.

Marvel VS Capcom 3 -- My 1st Look

From Street Fighter 4 to Marvel VS Capcom 3, The Fighting Game Community is back strong in 2011. As of Feb. 15th, MVC3 hit the stores with the massive midnight release at GameStop & WalMart. Alot of these fans would rather pass up Valentine's Day SuperSex than miss this release.

The gameplay in MVC3 is very, VERY crisp, online play is great, unless you have a bullshit connection (wireless server), so get your shit together... 10 years ago, MVC2 had alot of characters, more popular were Magneto, Sentinel, Storm & Strider Hiryu. Sadly, Strider did not make the game this time, and it hurt, not only myself, but millions of MVC fans. Dante (DMC) & Adam Wesker (Resident Evil) have caught the eye of popular community player Andre "Twisted Jago". Andre is in the YouTube video above talking about the teams he may use in upcoming tourneys.

Another difference from MVC 2 & 3 is that part 2 had over 50 characters and at the moment MVC3 holds just 40. With rumors of more DLC characters to come on Capcom-Unity, we will see... Tourney play is going to be very interesting, especially in the beginning. With legends such as Justin Wong & Sanford and of course the players, "Twisted Jago" & Marn, it's really going to be worth it's while. I WILL BE attending EVO 2011.
