STREET FIGHTER CLEAR -- A True Beginning

Street Fighter Alpha 2 was by far one of the best SF games made because of its grasp to the storyline. The characters, the designers & the music were all classic. With that being said, there are some things that were left out of this game, and as a fan of the SF series it actually hit me in the head recently, I mean, I always had thoughts of what the perfect SF game would be, but now I could actually put it in my own words and have it viewed by other SF fans.

SFA2 was released in 1996, a great year of gaming, both in home & arcade. The designers of this game went the extra mile on everything from combo chains to air blocking.

HOWEVER... It hurts me to say that when SFA was released it was supposed to take place before SF2, as we all know SF1 was release in 1987, I'm sure the younger generation know absolutely shit about that. In 1987 there were only 2 playable characters, Ryu & Ken, Ken was only playable if the 1st player (Ryu) lost to the 2nd player (Ken) in a versus match, and Ken would continue on. None of the other characters were selectable.

The other characters were:
1. Sagat
2. Adon
3. Gen
4. Birdie
5. Retsu
6. Lee
7. Mike
8. Eagle
9. Geki
10. Joe

In Street Fighter 2 you had the opportunity to use Sagat which was the ONLY character returning from the original besides Ken & Ryu. Once Alpha hit, you then had your opportunity to use Adon, Gen & Birdie. Eagle was a playable character in SFA3. So that leaves you with 5 other characters from the original SF game that were never playable since 1987, the year is 2011. lol. As a gift to the fans, that would have been something worth giving, whether those characters were bullshit or not, you should have given the public the opportunity to use them. Especially when you release characters from Metro City:
1. Guy
2. Rolento
3. Sodom
4. Cody

As a person who wants to help design a storyboard for a SF game, let me show you how a beginning should go. I'll show you who I would want to do my soundtrack, my design work and production.

STREET FIGHTER CLEAR
Characters:
1. Ryu - Street Fighter posterboy
2. Ken - Ryu's friend & sparring partner.
3. Gouken - Ken & Ryu's teacher and older brother to Akuma.
4. Sagat - Emperor of Muay Thai, Sensei to Adon & rival to Ryu. Last man in SF1.
5. Retsu - Fallen monk & old friend to Gouken.
6. Joe - A top ranking american street fighter.
7. Lee - Talented "scorpion style" fighter. uncle to Yun & Yang.
8. Birdie - a London street fighter and ex-wrestler.
9. Adon - Sagat's student and rival. Not as strong, but more acrobatic.
10. Geki - Mysterious ninja from Japan.
11. Mike - Fomer Heavyweight Champion. Banned for killing an opponent.
12. Gen - Ruthless ex-assassin and world renowned martial arts master.
13. Eagle - Ex-bouncer hired by British Secret service.
14. Akuma - Gouken's younger brother, self proclaimed "Master of the Fist", the "Japanese Devil".
15. Charlie - 1st lieutenant to the US Air Force. He must track down the Shadowloo.
16. Sodom - Original member of the Mad Gear Gang. American man obsessed with Japanese culture.
17. Rose - A fortune teller from Genoa. She is the supposed child of the leader of Shadowloo.
18.  Dan Hibiki - Son to Go Hibiki
19. Go Hibiki - Father to Dan Hibiki, rival to Sagat. In battle he gouged out Sagat's eye.
20. Guy - 39th Bushin ninja master helped friend in Metro City take down the Mad Gear Gang.
21. Rolento - Former Red Beret member, in Metro City he was responsible for narcotic producing plants.
22. Chun-Li - Interpol investigator, searching for clues in the death of her father.
23. M. Bison - Supposed leader of the Shadowloo and controller of Psycho Power. Bison has come in contact with almost all of the competitors in the World Warrior Tourney.

This would be a true clear beginning to the Street Fighter series. Something the fans will faint over. It allows character that were never used to be playable & it also shows you new but old characters that should have been implemented before.

PRODUCTION TEAM:
Designers: Noritaka Funamizu, Ryota Niitsuma
Composer: Hideki Okugawa

If you don't know who those guys are, do your research. I think my Street Fighter would be the greatest one made ever. No DLC's, straight old school gangsta shit...

  1. I thought street fighter alpha was the step in the right direction. Instead of being some kind of story that was created in between the two street fighters, alpha really should have been a remake or a reboot of street fighter I. What you have here could work but it does bring a lot of questions. Like for instance is this a tournament or just a a complete street fighter story. You have to bring these characters together some way and I do not see all them connecting with each other. This is why in some sense a true story cannot be defined here because there are to many elements involved at once.

  2. There is always a way to make a story connect. As you well know, just by looking at the characters above, each of them, in some way, shape or form, had something to do with each other by another. Thats the beauty of SF. This story should have been told immediately following SF1, so at least the fans would be able to play as characters that were unusable before.
